Technology Maturity Model

Technology Maturity Model

A mind map for maturing an MVP to Enterprise-Ready Software.

The Technology Maturity Model is a mind map of options for moving a technology product from MVP toward enterprise readiness. It covers six areas: architecture, infrastructure, tooling, testing, observability, and delivery. It is a guide for exploring possibilities, not a prescriptive checklist; some options may compete or may not fit a particular system.

The map helps make the range of relevant considerations visible as teams address their biggest pain points and plan for future needs. In its current form, it requires someone with relevant knowledge to interpret a problem and connect it to possible solutions; it is not yet self-guided. As teams work through it, they can identify ways to make the system more robust, secure, and scalable.

For a more prescriptive approach, see The Playbook.
